Plein air painting session at Burleigh Heads
I headed out this morning to find somewhere to paint. I ended up at Burleigh Heads (as I often do!)
I was about to paint old Burleigh theatre which I've painted before, but I turned my head left and looked up the path towards the headland and decided that was a preferable scene.
I've always liked the cast shadow from the big tree with people sitting underneath in full shade. Plus the morning Beach scene with backlit Pendanus trees looked appealing.
It was extremely windy with occasional gale force bursts hitting every 10 minutes or so. At one point, my paper flew off my easel, and I had to run after it!
In all, it was a fun morning, great practice, and I'm glad I got out amongst it.
